THE HOUSE JOURNEY

Israel has loomed large in my consciousness from as early as I can remember. I celebrated Israeli Independence Day, learnt its history and language and was constantly encouraged to visit. My first opportunity to do so took place in 1996 and was a true immersion – as an 18 year-old I lived, studied and worked throughout Israel.

It was upon subsequent visits, in the context of the many other places I’ve been, that I truly began to appreciate the remarkableness of Israel as a destination.

In a tiny country you are offered all the elements for an exceptional visitor experience; a deeply significant history that has delivered a unique and fascinating culture, an incredible topography offering a stunning natural environment, a food scene that is globally known and the stunning Mediterranean beaches.

Perhaps the most compelling element of Israel is it’s people – their confidence and optimism, their warmth and engrained hospitality that make every personal interaction memorable. Israel is a place I literally can’t wait to get back to.
